WHAT is AIM?:

AIM is an examination system developed by ISMTA covering twelve levels of piano theory and performance.
Students play pieces and other components of music learning for a judge.
They receive a score, certificate, medal and pin for each level they master.
AIM is not a competition with other students and judges make every effort to make AIM a positive and rewarding experience.


WHEN is AIM?:

AIM exams are taken in 2 parts for levels 2-12.
The theory exam is in the Fall, and the performance exam is in the Spring.
Levels 1A, 1B, and 1C do not take the theory portion of the exam in the Fall
and only complete the performance portion in the Spring.


WHERE is AIM?:

Students have their choice of taking their AIM exam at either
Bradley University
or
ICC in East Peoria
on AIM weekend.


WHY participate in AIM?:

AIM helps keep students accountable and on track with their
music study. Participating is not required every year, but is strongly encouraged.
Readiness each year is determined by the teacher.


HOW do I sign up for AIM?:

Your teacher will be in contact with you when your child is ready to participate.
You will receive a registration link when it is closer to the scheduled event.
